Garbage sorting is a
big issue and govt is facing huge problems
as a result the garbage is being dumped at dump yards say maddur or any
other place.
To tackle this issue we can follow, adopt, ensure the people
adhere to a few of these methods so that
Polythene covers and plastic items do not get mixed up with
other perishables,
The first task is to reduce poly covers in garbage to solve
this we can encourage people not to mix poly covers with garbage., to do
this
First we can inculcate people to separate poly covers in garbage but people
will not do I the first instance .
First let us start with milk covers almost all housewives buy milk in poly covers, after pouring milk into a vessel they will pour some water in
cover and shake the cover and this water to milk, here we can encourage them to
fold the cover into half the size of cover and if they seal this cover into
half the size, by showing the cover at
flame of the Gas, stove,half our work is done, once again if they fold the cover and show the cover at the gas flame the half
litre cover will be equal to the size of a match box or so,as these cover are
cleaned with water the covers are safe now they can store these covers in
another poly bag, once in a month they
can exchange this nandini for any other product this method can be displayed at all NANDINI
milk vendors, because all people at the time of boiling milk will stay infront of gas they can easily adopt this method, vendors
who in
turn would have collected from house holds.
If people get adjusted to this method they can do this for all other poly covers that they use in use,
this will greatly reduce poly covers being mingled in garbage,
After wards they can
buy another dust bin only for poly
covers, also garbage collectors must be instructed to refuse garbage containing poly covers, if
they refuse then only people will start to segregate Poly covers in garbage.
In
the second stage every layout may be allotted some land for garbage dump, the garbage generated in
that layout be dumped, there. So that
people will understand to reduce garbage and perishable items may be turned
into manure or non perishable may be recycled according to
the material.
